Promociona CEOE Programme
This blog is born thanks to the Promociona Programme, I was one of the fortunate participants in edition 6.3 of this programme aimed at women who are currently in management positions but who want to keep learning and growing in our professional careers. I learned about the Programme through my friend and client, the prestigious dermatologist Ricardo Ruiz. He knows my restless, nonconformist spirit well, and one fine day he told me he had heard about a management specialisation programme designed specifically for women executives, sponsored by the CEOE and held to date at ESADE. To be honest, I didn't pay much attention... I did the Executive MBA at ESADE 11 years ago and I have spent practically my entire professional career collaborating with the man who, for me, is the best marketing professor I have ever come across; the great Carles Torrecilla. Anyone who has the chance to attend one of his master classes or to be his student should not miss it...
Back to the topic... I started researching, I went to the CEOE, where they explained to me the purpose of the programme, the profiles of the participants, the phases of the programme and finally how I should apply. The thing is, I grew more and more excited... until they told me there were 600 applications and only 160 places... I passed the interviews with the CEOE and with ESADE, I asked my company for a recommendation. Normally it is the company itself that takes an interest in the programme for its women executives, but in my case the company's President resides in Vienna (Austria), so it was I myself who led my participation.
The Programme is aimed at women executives with at least 15 years of experience, and the goal is to strengthen and develop professional leadership competencies. It lasts approximately 1 year, with 3 in-person modules: Vision, Value and Impact. I would venture to say that the key to this course is self-knowledge, confidence in ourselves and, above all, the strength we have together, because together we are better, and we prove that we don't compete but rather "coopete" and collaborate.
And the million-dollar question is... is female leadership different from male leadership? well yes, it is, and very much so, and we should not be ashamed of it or try to be masculine. The so-called soft skills are more developed in women, which doesn't mean men don't have them, but we have them as a baseline! These skills are essential for collaborative projects, and it's clear that business units are becoming less and less vertical and much more cross-functional, so emotional intelligence and the ability to work as a team take priority.
Last Friday we finished the third and final in-person module: Impact, and it certainly impacted me... the sessions were tremendously practical and immediately applicable to our professional day-to-day; influence and communication were the key skills of the module. I don't want to reveal details... but I wish I had met our Programme Director Patricia Cauqui and the journalist Julián Reyes sooner, both experts in communication and great teachers for us. So much so that I've gotten stuck in a loop on the subject of communicating...

What I learned...
You are who you know: away with shyness and go out there to take on the world!
If you don't tell anyone, no one will know how well you're doing... lyou women are very good at "piqui piqui" the professor Juan Díaz-Andreu threw in our faces, what is "piqui piqui"? we asked him, well, piqui piqui means you work and work and don't tell anyone about it! do me the favour of raising your voice! our poker faces said it all...
If you want them to remember your message, apply the rule of 3.... our brain can't take in any more!!
In short, with Promociona a new stage of my personal and professional life begins, because of what I have learned, because I dared to open this blog and because of the extraordinary professionals I have met and with whom we will keep building our legacy #soypromociona. Thank you
